Building Permit Fees

For building projects in the Town of Bow Mar, the Building Permit Fees are determined according to the total project valuation. Project Valuation includes the total value of all labor and materials (new or used) required to complete the work for which the building permit applies, as well as all profit and commissions.

Following is the fee schedule:

$2,001-$25,000 $164, 1st $2,000 + $33.25 per additional $1,000
$25,001-$50,000 $930, 1st $25,000 + $24.00 per additional $1,000
$50,000-$100,000 $1,530, 1st $50,000 + $16.50 per additional $1,000
$100,000-$500,000 $2,361, 1st $100,000 + $13.25 per additional $1,000
$500,000-$1,000,000 $7,684, 1st $500,000 + $11.25 per additional $1,000
$1,000,000 and up $13,325, 1st $1,000,000 + 7.50 per additional $1,000
  1. Projects with a total valuation of $50,000 and above require a detailed Schedule Of Valuations to be submitted along with the Application for Building Permit.
  2. An additional Transportation Utility Fee on one percent (1%) of Total Project Valuation will be added to the Building Permit Fee for all projects of $10,000 and above, which shall be allocated to the Town's cost for future maintenance and improvement of its local streets. For example, a $50,000 project will have a Building Permit Fee of $1,530 plus a Transportation Utility Fee of $500 for total fees of $2,030.

FLAT FEE SCHEDULE

Instead of using the above table, certain discrete home improvements that require a Building Permit are charged Building Permit Fees according to the Flat Fee Schedule below. The cost of inspection will be added to this flat fee.

  • Boiler –$275
  • Furnace – $250
  • Swamp Cooler – $175
  • Water Heater-gas –$200
  • Water Heater-electric – $200
  • Side Arm Water Tank - $200
